The Magic of a Scarf
(or two or three or more)
It seems I remember reading that a scarf is defined as a piece of fabric worn on or near the head or around the neck for warmth, cleanliness, fashion, academic identification, by sports club supporters, as part of certain dances (like belly dance or some modern dance) and by some groups for religious reasons.
I have recently discovered that scarves can also be used in many other ways to conceal or gradually reveal the entire body, and I find that they make wonderful props when I pose for photographs.

A large scarf can cover the entire body.

.
Or gradually uncover more and more. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . depending on who is watching and how much you want to show
How much shows through it depends on the direction of the light
......................

And how it is held
........
This one scarf really small, but the world's longest was made by a man from Norway and is 3,373.4 meters long. That would easily reach from this cliff all the way down to that beach below.

We found a pretty deserted area at a cliff above a beach on the California Coast where my photographer could "Scarf up some shots" as I posed for him.
.....................
.......
This one does not really cover up much of anything, does it?
............................
This one could make a pretty sexy little skirt, but then it leaves my upper body uncovered. Does this help to cover all bases? :-)
...................
Scarves are also known as sweater necklaces in some towns in Pennsylvania. Suppose they had this usage in mind?
....
When the wind lifts, it almost feels like I could spread it out and fly!

Scarves can also be used to conceal the identity, although most people who wear them conceal the rest of the body too.
...................
Silk scarves were used by pilots of early aircraft in order to keep oily smoke from the exhaust out of their mouths while flying.
.....
After posing so far above the beach, I finally decided to go down and check out the surf.
.......................................
It was nice, but the breeze was not there to play with my scarves.

..........
Then the wind picked up very nicely, after we moved back up higher where the scarves could dance in the breeze.
......
I was pretty much in isolated areas most of the time, but did do a few poses along a trail, where several guys walked by and showed some interest in me.

Most of them tried to act like they were ignoring me, although it was obvious they were curious.

I later found out by looking carefully at this photo, that the guy in the blue shirt actually had his cell phone out, secretly taking some pictures of me.

How funny that if he had only known all he had to do was ask,
and I would have been happy to pose for him to get some clear and close shots. :-)

One fellow who stopped to talk turned out to be a professional photographer, who had questions about the shoot, recognized the type of camera and commented on what a good model I was. Too bad he did not have his camera along or I definitely would have posed for him. And I really had fun talking with him.

I even got to do some birdwatching when a group of pelicans flew by (Or were they watching me?)
All in all, a fun day of trying out something new. I enjoyed it and hope you enjoy this new web page.
By the way, I also did some slightly more risque shots that I did not want to put on the public part of my website. If you would like to see them, e-mail me and I will send you a link to a hidden page where you can see them. : )
